What a Weekend!!!

We have been going non-stop since Friday and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Connor and Mackenzie both had their yearly check-ups at the doctor on Friday.  Good news for Mac that she's growing like a weed and she's all up to date on her immunizations!  Bad news for Connor was that he needed FOUR immunization shots!!!  Needless to say, his legs have been a little sore since Friday.

We then spent Saturday celebrating Mackenzie & Connor's birthdays.  Even though they were a week ago, we hadn't had a chance to celebrate with family and close friends.  We actually kept it small with family and very close friends.  But we wanted it to be extra special with all that has happened over the past few months.  The kids got to dress as Pirates and pretend to sail the high seas and tonight they're still yelling "ARGHHHHH!!" and "Ahoy there Matey!"

As we sang happy birthday to both Mackenzie and Connor, there were so many mixed emotions.  I'm happy that we're able to celebrate another year of life, and sad for all that they have had to go through to get here.  It was so nice to watch them just be kids again and not have a care in the world!  I pray that feeling will continue and that there will be many, many, many more birthdays to come.
